Activating Windows 10 with a Windows 7 key
You can still upgrade your windows 7/8 computers to 10

Windows 8
If you have Windows 8, you product key will activate by itself as soon as you connect to the internet. The product keys for Windows 8 are bound to the motherboard, making it much easier to upgrade
Windows 7
- Press Start and then click Settings
- Click Updates and Security
- Click Activation on the sidebar to the left
This next picture is for step 4 and 5.

If you key doesn’t work, click troubleshoot.
If you’re in any luck, this hasn’t been patched yet and the troubleshoot menu will upgrade your Windows 7 key to Windows 10. After you upgrade it, you can restore your pc as many times as you want and it will still automatically activate like a standard Windows 10 key does.
